Mahrin Skel Replies to comparison of DAOC to EQ!
Wednesday, June 6, 2001 - 6:14 PM CST

Seems as though the Combine Network has written an article named EverCamelot that has gotten a response form none other than Mythic's own Mahrin Skel, here's a little excerpt from his reply.

For a variety of reasons, every one of these games is goign to have to choose to be either AC-like, with random locational spawns of creatures that don't move much, if at all, or EQ-like, with localized spawns. Eventually more sophisticated systems (based on A-Life) may emerge, but the processor burden is prohibitive right now.

It's a good read so I suggest if you are a fan of DAOC you should check it out here. And if you would like to read the article that prompted the response go here.

Brother Nemus 3rd Journal
Wednesday, June 6, 2001 - 5:25 PM CST

Over at Camelot Nexus Paradox has posted the third segment in Brother Nemus's Journal.

Nemus still couldn't help rubbing the soft supple leather covering his arms as he walked down the hard-packed dirt road towards Prydwen Keep. He pondered how a material so soft and smooth could actually be stiff and sturdy at the same time. The acolyte, from his training as a carpenter in days prior, knew a few things about natural materials and their properties but was nonetheless amazed. In fact, Nemus' arms were not the only area of his body covered by the leather armor. Thanks to the generosity of Lieutenant Maurice, a veteran guardsman stationed at the Salisbury Bridge, Nemus now had a full set of leather armor from the cap on his head to the boots upon his feet.
